Book Review: Percy Jackson: The Sea of Monsters

The Sea of Monsters (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #2) The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Okay yall' are going to think that my house is falling down around me, because I just finished The Lightning Theif early yesterday morning, and I just finished this (the second in the series) book tonight. I promise I have done things besides read. I have done major grocery shopping twice (at 2 different stores), gone to 2 doctor appointments (don't ask), slept over with my family at my sister-in-law's in Cedar City, stayed up until 3:00 am playing games and talking with family and friends, taken a nap, gone to the paint store and played a game with my kids. I just read really fast I guess, plus I read during the almost hour long drive each way to Cedar yesterday and today. I just have really enjoyed these books. I have loved reading about Greek mythology and it's modern day setting. If you like adventure and/or fantasy you need to read these. They are great books for pre-teen/teen kids (and any grown-up, who like me, refuses to grow up). They are entertaining, clean and imaginative! I highly recommend them to anyone who reads out loud to their kids, I think I will read them to mine! I enjoyed Percy's new adventure and have loved the ways we have seen him grow and mature. Anyone who knows me takes any recommendation I give them with a grain of salt...why you ask? Because I will be the first to admit that I AM easily entertained, and something has to be really bad for me not to like it. Some people think I like everything, but I just don't read or watch things that I can already tell I won't like (like crime or horror movies or books), so I do like most of what I view and read. The point is, don't take this recommendation with a grain of salt, it really was THAT good!
